About

The Singapore Precollegiate Integration Bee (SPIB) is Singapore's first nationwide integration bee for junior college students and secondary school students proficient in integration techniques.
The fundamental mission and long term goals of SPIB are:
  1. to let students enjoy the process of thinking and talking about challenging mathematics, and the problem solving skills required, and to promote a deeper appreciation of recreational mathematics;
  2. to let students have fun learning with friends, and build a community among mathematics enthusiasts.

Competition format

SPIB is broken up into two rounds, Round 1 (on 7 March 2026) and Round 2 (on 11 April 2026). Contestants participate in teams of three, not necessarily from the same school, throughout SPIB. Both rounds are held at NUS (specific venue TBC).

Round 1

Round 1 is a two-hour written test with 30 integrals of varying difficulty, where teams work together to solve the integrals.

It will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm on 7 March 2026 at LT31 and LT32, NUS. Please report with your team before 09:45am. Further details will be announced soon through this website and by email to registered teams after the registration deadline passes.

Round 2

The top-performing teams advance to Round 2. Round 2 is an MIT-style single-elimination tournament where teams face off against each other in evaluating integrals faster than their opponents.

The syllabus for both rounds is available in the training resources folder on Google Drive, which can be accessed from the buttons above.

Why should I register?

For the fun of it! SPIB is not another boring, grindy maths competition. It aims to spark curiosity, reward creative thinking, and bring together people who genuinely enjoy solving problems.

Solving a problem should give a "wow" feeling, something that typical school math problems cannot provide.

Also, by participating, you stand a chance to win glory for your team, and prizes!

Awards & Prizes

Teams that perform well in SPIB's Round 1 will receive Gold Awards, Silver Awards, Bronze Awards or Honourable Mentions, with each award based on a minimum score. These awards are independent of the results of Round 2.

The list of awardees will be published shortly. Invitations to Round 2 have already been sent out.

The top three teams that excel in SPIB's Round 2 will receive attractive prizes sponsored by Texas Instruments.

These prizes include TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators (both with CAS and without CAS) and TI-84 graphing calculators.

  • 1st place: 3 units of TI-Nspire™ CX II CAS graphing calculators
  • 2nd place: 3 units of TI-Nspire™ CX II-T graphing calculators
  • 3rd place: 3 units of TI-84 graphing calculators

How can I register?

Registration is open only to secondary school students, junior college students and polytechnic students. You can register in teams of up to three at register.sgintegrationbee.org.
